Determine Your Undertone

The first step in choosing your WOW colours is determining the undertone of your skin. Unfortunately, determining your undertone can be a bit tricky, especially for Asian women. It’s often assumed that Asians have yellow or warm undertones, but very often this may not be the case. Below are a few tests that you can do to determine your skin undertone

Foundation Test – You will need two shades of cream foundation: a red or pink based and a yellow based. Apply a small layer of pink/red based foundation on one cheek and yellow on the other cheek. The shade that blends in flawlessly is your colour. If it’s the red/pink based, you have a cool undertone. If the yellow blends in better, then your undertone is warm.

Jewellery Test – For this step, you need 2 pieces of jewellery, one silver and the other gold. Simply hold these 2 metals against your face, and take notice of which one makes your overall complexion look brighter and compliments your overall skintone. This is best done under natural lighting and with NO makeup whatsoever. Which shade looks better? If the gold jewelley looks best, you’re warm toned. The silver jewellery will look better if you’re cool toned.
